Design Inspiration: Outdoor Entertaining

This autumn, we shared a photo of a beautiful outdoor patio we created for one of our customers. The space included a custom built-in stone fireplace, a covered patio, and excellent lighting. We asked how you would style the space. Now we’ll show two looks that we love for this space.

With the changing of the seasons, it's fun to update and refresh the focal points throughout your home. One of the easiest places to either wow or derail is the fireplace mantle. Leave the glittery garland and faux cobwebs behind; instead, follow these tips to create the most pleasing display to grace your mantle this year.

Look #1. Neutral Geometrics

A combination of cool grey, wood tones, mixed textures, and ivory set the scene for a slightly cool-toned modern look. Building off of a large geometric grey rug, we layered a concrete coffee table, cozied things up with a few throw pillows, and added a coordinating lounge chair. It’s always great to add in fresh greenery; to do so, we added a ceramic two-tiered speckled planter.

Look #2. Autumnal Retreat

Drawing from the warm tones of the fireplace, the Autumn Retreat look builds off of a rich orange rug, and creates a welcoming style with various seating options. The side table echos the tones of the rug, as well as the floral design of the ivory throw pillow. The use of rattan furniture creates a bohemian look, which gives lightness to the space. Rust toned accessories add to the warm autumnal vibes!
